You can choose to take out your cover on an annual or monthly "Pay As You Go" basis and a number of things you often pay extra for, such as the peace of mind of breakdown assistance*, are included in our price.

*Comprehensive policies only

Standard Policy

This provides you with cover on an annual basis, where you can either pay in one lump sum or spread the cost over an initial payment and 8 monthly installments (note there will be a small interest charge for this).

You can choose 3 types of cover:

Comprehensive, which includes:

• Breakdown Assistance
• Legal Cover
• European Driving

Third Party, Fire & Theft, which includes:

• Legal Cover
• European Driving

Third Party, which includes:

• Legal Cover
• European Driving

Pay As You Go Policy

This provides you with cover on a monthly basis and you pay a monthly premium.

This means you can purchase cover on a flexible basis and renew it as often or as little as you need to.

We'll send you a renewal notice each month, shortly before the policy expires. If you want the policy to continue, you simply do nothing and we renew it automatically after collecting the monthly premium. If you would like to cancel the policy, you simply log into "Your Account" on our website and let us know on or before the expiry date.

As with our Standard Policy, you can choose Comprehensive, Third Party, Fire & Theft or Third Party cover and the monthly rate you start with is guaranteed for 8 months, providing you don't make a claim or change your policy.

Also, with the Pay As You Go policy, you can earn 1 year's no claims discount after just 8 claim free months.

Breakdown Recovery

If your car is 8 years old or younger and you buy an eCar Standard or Pay As You Go comprehensive policy, we’ll include breakdown recovery for no additional cost to you.

This covers you and any passenger or driver, who is in the insured vehicle at the time of the breakdown, anywhere in the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands.

You will be provided with a high level of cover, including:

• Roadside repairs
• Home breakdown
• Vehicle recovery
• Getting you to your destination

This policy is underwritten by DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited, who only use accredited operators who have been vetted for their professionalism and compliance with quality standards.

Legal Expenses

All eCar Insurance policies come with Legal Cover included in the price.

This covers you for any legal expenses (up to £100,000) you incur as the result of a non-fault accident in the insured vehicle.

This includes:

• Uninsured losses (such as damage to personal property in the vehicle)
• Claiming compensation for personal injuries
• Hiring a replacement vehicle
• Vehicle repairs (if you don't have comprehensive cover).

This policy is underwritten by IGI Ltd and the service is provided by Angel Assistance Ltd.

European Driving included

All eCar Insurance policies come with European driving in the insured vehicle included in the price.

This insures you for travel purposes, 365 days a year, in any country of the European Union at the same level of cover you have in the UK.

Free 5 years NCD Protection

If you have 5 or more years no claims discount, eCar Insurance guarantee to protect this for life for free.

Therefore we will not reduce your maximum no claims discount following any number of claims and (unlike other insurers) we won't charge you extra for this protection.

Cover up to 4 cars and drivers

With eCar Insurance you can have a multi-car and multi-driver policy.

This means you can insure up to 4 cars on one policy at the level of cover you have selected (provided all drivers are 25 or over).

This could provide a substantial saving over insuring the vehicles individually.

You can also insure up to 4 named drivers on a single-car (no age restriction) or multi-car policy (as above) too.

1 year's NCD after 8 months on Pay As You Go

If you take out a Pay As You Go policy you can claim 1 year's no claims discount after every 8 months claim free cover. This means you could build up to our maximum 5 years no claims discount in just 40 claim free months.

Once you reach 5 years no claims discount, we guarantee to protect this for life - for free.
